The Royal Academy was founded in 1768 by George III. Past Royal Academicians include John Constable, Thomas Gainsborough, JMW Turner, Lord Leighton and Stanley Spencer. In addition to the popular Summer Exhibition the Academy holds world class exhibitions throughout the year.
