Gilbert White's House and Gardens.

Gilbert White was born in the village of Selborne in 1720, educated at Oxford, ordained in 1749, and later became curate of Selborne. White was an avid naturalist and gardener and wrote The Natural History and Antiquities of Selborne (Open Library) for which he is well known. This book and some of his personal effects are on display in the house. The garden has been largely restored to its 18th century form.
