Firle Place
is a 18th century manor house transformed from an earlier Tudor house and has been the home of
the Gage family for over 500 years.
The original house was built by Sir John Gage
who was who was at times Governor of Calais, Vice-Chamberlain to King Henry VIII,
Knight of the Garter and Constable of the Tower of London.
