Coventry Cathedral.
During the Second World War, in one dreadful night of bombing in November, 1940,
much of Coventry
and the Cathedral burnt to the ground. Out of
the ruins a new city centre and a new cathedral
were born. The new cathedral, consecrated in
1962, is sited next to the hallowed ruins of the old cathedral and is testament
to twentieth century architecture.
